Stephanie Sammartino McPherson wrote her first children’s story in college. She enjoyed the process so much that she never stopped writing. A former teacher and journalist, she has written almost forty nonfiction books and many fiction stories for magazines. Recent titles include Arctic Thaw: Climate Change and the Global Race for Energy Resources, Political Parties: From Nominations to Victory Celebrations, Doping in Sports: Winning at Any Cost?, Sonia Sotomayor: Supreme Court Justice, and Are You Stressed Out in School?. Stephanie and her husband Richard have lived in Richmond for over twenty years.
